According to the Southern California Earthquake Data Center at Caltech, the Greater Los Angeles Area has experienced two earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 or greater in the past 24 hours and eight earthquakes in the past seven days.
Significant Earthquake Events
On Friday night, a powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake shook buildings and cracked foundations in Southern California. Another earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 rocked a Los Angeles region that had recently experienced a series of winter storms.
