WEB Starmer, the current leader of the Labour Party, is one of four children born to Rodney Starmer, a toolmaker, and Josephine (née Baker) Starmer, a nurse. Born in Southwark, London, on September 2, 1962, Starmer grew up in the town of Oxted in Surrey as the second of four children.
